PERTH AMBOY – Ordinance No. 5 Dissolving the Perth Amboy Redevelopment Agency and designating the City Council as a Redevelopment Entity for the City of Perth Amboy.

(LOCAL FINANCE BOARD APPROVAL REQUIRED PRIOR TO ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE.

Councilman Fernando Gonzalez was very upset as he read part of a letter drafted by Mayor Diaz to the local Finance Board and copied to the Attorney General. In this letter, it accused Council President Nanton of committing fraud. Gonzalez firmly stated, “The Council will not be threatened.”

Acting Law Director Rainone cautioned the Council that they cannot take action on this ordinance before they get the approval for the local finance board.

Councilman Bill Petrick made a motion to postpone the ordinance. It was seconded by Councilman Joel Pabon. Motion passed.
