DAY AND OVERNIGHT FACILITIES

PERTH AMBOY, NJ— The Office of Emergency Management has announced a “Code Blue” in the City of Perth Amboy.  A shelter and heating centers have been designated for the public in two Perth Amboy facilities due to low temperatures, beginning this evening:

  1. OVERNIGHT: Alexander F. Jankowski Community Center located on 1 Olive Street; open on announced cold nights from 8:00 pm – 8:00 am.  Check back here for specific dates which are posted as they are announced. 
  2. Raritan Bay Area YMCA located on 357 New Brunswick Avenue; open Weekends 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

If anyone sees a person who needs help, they are urged to call the Perth Amboy Police Department at 732-442-4400. If needed, transportation will be provided by local emergency responders.

IMPORTANT: The shelter at Olive Street is open to CITY residents. This is NOT a County shelter.
