LOOKING BACK

PERTH AMBOY – The Dublin Lighthouse in 1903 on the corner of New Brunswick Avenue and Prospect Street. It was used as a home for the men who staffed the Great Beds Lighthouse. The service became automated in the late 1930’s and the staff was no longer needed. The home was abandoned and and eventually demolished by the City and a small factory was built. For the last 40 years it has been a body shop for repairing cars.          *Photo Courtesy of the Perth Amboy Free Public Library
