There’s Never Been a Better Time to Build a Better Us

PERTH AMBOY – The RARITAN BAY AREA YMCA launched “For a better us”, an Annual Campaign designed to educate the community on the Y’s work as one of the most effective and enduring charitable organizations, both locally and around the country. For a better us. is meant to change the perception of the Y and raise awareness of the work it does in the areas of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility to address pressing social issues in more than 10,000 communities around the country.
Everything the Y does is in service of making us – as individuals and a community – better. But when challenges arise, the Y – and donors – step in. Every year the Y solicits funds for the Annual Campaign. These funds make it possible to keep our promise to: Further our homeless prevention support and resources Develop more programs for special needs and the pre-school population • Increase scholarships to keep kids safe in afterschool programs Provide free teen nights to Perth Amboy high school age students Expand the Waterfront Community Program.
So far, we have received 107 staff commitments, totaling $16,138 in pledges during our Staff Campaign. As part of our Annual Campaign, For a better us. we are asking everyone to support the community, have fun and get healthy!

For a better us. Campaign is a multi-year, multi-faceted effort to engage more people with the Y and its mission.”
