PERTH AMBOY – At the 2/13/17 Board of Education Meeting there were three statements made: one regarding executive sessions, one regarding undocumented immigrants and one regarding building the new high school.

Board President Ken Puccio made a statement regarding closed sessions. “We are redoing how we do Board Meetings. Starting next month (March), the Closed Session will start at 5 p.m. and the regular meeting will begin at 7 p.m.”

Board Vice President Milady Tejada made a statement regarding Undocumented Immigrants, “Immigration is a very hot topic. I want to comfort our community about State law about school. We cannot prohibit a child from attending school on the premise an immigrant is undocumented or not.”

Board Secretary Derek Jess made a statement regarding the new High School, “Today we received a list of new schools being built by the SDA (School Development Authority). Perth Amboy High School is on that list and will be built and at the moment will be the most expensive new school being built up to date. It’s official.”
