SOUTH AMBOY – Two residents who live on Church Street, South Amboy came up to complain about a building located on 221 First Street, which is a health hazard.

Church Street Resident, Peter Scarola said, “This building is a hazard. There are a lot of animals running in and out of the building. It should be condemned.”

Business Administrator Tooker said, “This building has been turned over to Code Enforcement.”

Scarola said, “I’m surprised that the roof has not collapsed. Animal Control should be looking into this.”

Mark Messenger (who is related to Scarola) said, “I am new in town. I’ve seen trees and shrubbery in that building and raccoons are constantly running in and out. I haven’t seen any people coming in and out of this building. We can provide pictures of the building to the City.”

Tooker stated, “I have just contacted Code Enforcement to look into this problem.
