SOUTH AMBOY – Mayor Fred Henry smiles as South Amboy Council President Mickey Gross reads resolution R-74-2017  The Resolution was moved by Councilman Tom Reilly and Seconded by Councilman Brian McLaughlin. The Resolution congratulated Mayor Henry for his accomplishments and his being named the Grand Marshal of this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. All of the Council and City Administrators who were present praised Mayor Henry for the work that he has done for the community as a Council Member, Mayor and as an Educator and Coach. Council President Mickey Gross who has been a Chair of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade for many years said that he had nominated Mayor Fred Henry as the Grand Marshal of this year’s parade and he was a unanimous choice.

Mayor Henry was humbled by the Resolution. He was honored to be the Grand Marshal and spoke about his love of Teaching and Coaching. “I love the job here, but sometimes it could be a headache, but it’s worthwhile. I’m especially happy to be honored this year because my mother was also named the Irish Woman of the Year.”
