Just Ask Me! 3/22/17 Council Meeting

Roman McKeon Acting Police Chief PAPD

PERTH AMBOY – Acting Police Chief Mckeon responded to public comments made about crime stats. “A lot of them are misleading. If you have questions, just ask me. We’ve had gun incidents, but for an urban town, we are low in crime. Our Police Department does an extraordinary job. Last year we had 5 reported gun robberies. A lot are misinterpretations. Some of these weapons were BB Guns. There were 87 percent drop in crime involving weapons.”

In response to Councilman Jelmin Caba asking about crime stats not being reported and perhaps incorporating that information into our Council Meetings, McKeon said, “The Police Department will be putting in a weekly crime blog to keep the public informed.”

I am proud to say that this new Chief is on his A GAME. It is truly appreciated that he wants to keep the great citizens informed, which keeps everything very transparent and there are no smoking mirrors with his approach. From what I can see the Perth Amboy Police Department is doing a fine job and they may have an off day here and there but over all the reason why We the citizens of this great city sleep at night in peace is because We truly believe in our Police Department. Thank you all for your unselfish dedication to the great City of Perth Amboy. God bless you all.
