Perth Amboy’s Mayor Wilda Diaz said, “Our Independence Day celebration is the perfect event for family and friends to experience a beautiful evening outdoors along our scenic waterfront. We invite our friends from across New Jersey to have an amazing evening that concludes with the brilliant and booming fireworks. Our communities come together on the July 4th weekend to recognize all the positives that unite Americans today, and validate our precious liberties.”

South Amboy Mayor Fred Henry said, “We are pleased to celebrate this great Independence Day weekend with our neighbors across the Raritan River. All our South Amboy residents as well as family and friends from near and far are invited to enjoy everything our City on the Rise has to offer. Come and enjoy our extraordinary waterfront and park facilities during July 4th weekend and all summer.”

At total darkness, WCTC 1450-AM will simulcast a non-stop program of Americana music from patriotic marches by John Philip Sousa to the New Jersey-centric songs by “the Boss” Bruce Springsteen. The music will continue throughout the fireworks display, on an outdoor speaker system on both shores, over the airways and by live streaming.
“We are ready, after months of preparation, for our most memorable and thrilling Independence Day celebration,” said Barry Rosengarten, Chairman of Celebrate Our Stars & Stripes Committee. “As we mark our nation’s birthday, it is time for each of us, who believe deeply in American ideals to come together. It is important for everyone in our great country to stand against the rise of hatred and extremism.”

Mr. Rosengarten also graciously thanked Celebrate Our Stars & Stripes Committee for their many efforts to make the Independence Day fireworks and activities a success in both communities. He recognized S. Amboy Mayor Henry, who is the event’s Honorary Chair, plus his hard-working “Celebrate” Co-Chair and City Council President Mickey Gross. Mayor Diaz also shares Honorary Chair’s responsibilities along with event Co-Chair and City Council President Bill Petrick.

Perth Amboy and South Amboy’s leaders were assisted by many volunteers and each city’s staff as well as members of the police, fire, public works, and recreation departments. Preparing for fireworks involves countless hours of behind-the-scenes planning and close coordination on July 3rd by all department to ensure a safe, fun and exciting fireworks spectacular.
