Press Release 7/14/17

WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced over $2.9 million in funding from the Department of Health and Human Services for two area medical institutions. Rutgers University has been awarded $1,729,542 and the Jewish Renaissance Medical Center was rewarded $1,187,876. The Eric B. Chandler Health Center at Rutgers will use the funds to help add personnel to address mental health and substance abuse care.

“I applaud the Department of Health and Human Services for recognizing the important work done by the men and women at each of these institutions,” said Pallone. “These grants will allow the facilities to continue and expand the important services they provide to our communities.”

The Jewish Renaissance Medical Center (JRMC), located in Perth Amboy, is dedicated to delivering preventive and primary medical services to underserved and uninsured populations. Rutgers University, as a premier research university, will be able to utilize this funding to continue their cutting-edge work and community medical services through the Robert Wood Johnson Medical Group.
