Press Release

PERTH AMBOY – “A Place to Belong – Celebrating Church, Children and Culture” is the theme for National Back to Church Sunday being acknowledged throughout the United States.  On this day, Cathedral International will celebrate their Sunday School Kick-Off for the upcoming year and will observe International Sunday.  Following the worship service, a block party will take place on Madison Avenue in front of The Cathedral.

WHAT: National Back to Church Sunday

WHEN: Sunday, September 17, 2017

WHERE: Cathedral International, 277 Madison Ave., Perth Amboy, NJ 08861

“Many people in the United States, other countries and islands are suffering and experiencing difficulty they could never have imagined.  As we celebrate ‘Back to Church Sunday’ may we ‘go to’ those who are suffering with our prayers, financial donations and sensitive hearts. May we all remain sensitive and respectful to others who are different from us,” said Bishop Donald Hilliard, Jr., Senior Pastor of Cathedral International.

Sunday School registration takes place on the September 17th and classes will begin on September 24th. Sunday School classes are for children and adults.  Another feature of the day is the celebration of International Sunday. There are over 20 nations represented at Cathedral International. During the block party, everyone will have an opportunity to taste desserts, snacks and beverages from our international families.

Children will enjoy carnival games, the bounce house, face painting, great prizes, Italian ices and much more.  The entire family, friends, co-workers and neighbors are welcome to attend this free event.

The worship service is a great time of music and dance; prayers, the preached word and a warm-hearted welcoming congregation.

Additional information is available by calling the church at (732)826-5293.
