Celebrate Perth Amboy Presents Third Annual Pink Ribbon Gala

Fabulous Gala Will Raise Funds for Mary’s Place by the Sea

PERTH AMBOY – Celebrate Perth Amboy is hosting the Third Annual Pink Ribbon Gala on Saturday, October 7, the Gala recognizes Breast Cancer Awareness Month with an exceptional fundraising event which will be held aboard the Cornucopia Cruise Line’s St. Charles vessel, located at 401 Riverside Drive in the City of Perth Amboy. A 6 PM sumptuous cocktail hour will be followed with a delicious dinner and continuous dancing from 7 to 11 PM

The gala benefits Mary’s Place by the Sea, a nonprofit organization located in Ocean Grove, N.J. dedicated to providing comfort and confidence for women undergoing cancer therapies. The caring staff offers guests Reiki therapy, oncological massage, spa services, guided meditation, yoga and nutritional counseling. Mary’s Place is situated in a custom-built, state-of-the-art residence that can accommodate up to nine guests for overnight stays in private rooms.

Junel Hutchinson, who is the Pink Ribbon Gala Co-Chair, said, “Mary’s Place is a haven of comfort and aid for women bravely battling cancer and for those in recovery. This sanctuary is an oasis of caring that has served over 8000 women since its founding in 2009.”

In keeping with the Pink Ribbon theme, the Gala is formal and male guests may compliment their tuxedos with black or pink ties and the gals should wear any combination of pink and black evening wear

Barry Rosengarten, chairman and founder of Celebrate Perth Amboy, added, “Perth Amboy is a compassionate deeply caring community, readily assisting people, who truly need a helping hand. The Pink Ribbon Gala celebrates our commitment to serving our neighbors. We invite our friends, from both near and far, to join us for a fantastic evening. By joining together, we will help to ease the burden of recovery and help raise funds for Mary’s Place by the Sea.”

About Mary’s Place by the Sea

Mary’s Place by the Sea is a respite home for women who are receiving treatment for cancer, or who are recovering from the disease. The facility is not a medical center and has no medical staff.  However, it does offer integrative services to cancer patients and provides rest and support during this challenging time in their lives. During their stay, women are empowered with knowledge that will aid them on their road to healing.

Since 2009, nearly 8,000 women with cancer have become “guests” of Mary’s Place by the Sea.
