Railing Collapses on Balcony Causing Two Boys to Fall

PERTH AMBOY –  On Thursday, October 5, 2017 two young boys fell from a balcony on Brighton Avenue when the railing collapsed. Dariel Sosa, age 9 died and Sosa’s cousin, Jason Huerta, age 13 was airlifted to Robert Wood Hospital and is in serious condition. Grief Counselors were dispatched to schools on Friday, October 6, 2017.

Mayor Diaz issued the following statement: “On behalf of the City of Perth Amboy, I want to extend my sincerest condolences to the family, their loved ones, and classmates. Our Perth Amboy Chaplains were with the families yesterday evening to offer grief counseling. We ask our community to join in prayer and good faith, as they mourn the loss of their 9-year old son.”
