1/3/18 Reorganization Meeting

By: Joseph L. Kuchie

SOUTH AMBOY – South Amboy Mayor Fred Henry announced the resignation of Business Administrator Stacey Kennedy at last Wednesday’s city reorganization meeting.

Kennedy took over as Business Administrator last May after Camille Tooker announced her retirement. She had previously worked as Secretary to the Mayor and Business Administrator from 2014-17.

“Stacey Kennedy has already left as Business Administrator and we are actively pursuing through a couple different channels to look for another Business Administrator for the city of South Amboy,” Mayor Henry said. “I hate to see her go but she thought it was in her best interest so I wish her well in what she does.”

“I want to wish Stacey Kennedy the best of luck in whatever she decides to pursue after leaving this role,” Councilman Tom Reilly said.

Mickey Gross will continue to serve as Council President and Christine Noble will continue to serve as Council Vice President after being unanimously chosen by the council.

“I’m going to do the best job I can…I take it serious and I’m honored you guys picked me again this year,” Gross said. “They don’t come any better than the bunch of you and I thank you for your endorsement.”

Zusette Dato was not in attendance for the reorganization meeting. The next city council meeting will be held on January 31st at 7:00 p.m.
