PERTH AMBOY – “On behalf of the City of Perth Amboy, we extend our deepest sympathies to the victims of the tragic fire that took place early this morning, where we lost two residents, a 5 year old boy and an adult. I want to thank all of our fire officials and police officers for their response. We ask our community to keep this family in prayer,” said Mayor Wilda Diaz.

Several Facts regarding the incident:

• Incident reported at 3:07 a.m. at 109 Commerce Street, Perth Amboy

• 2-alarm fire

• 2 deceased, one 5 year juvenile male identified as Rhyan Jumelle and 1 adult male (unable to confirm identity)

• Injuries: 10 transferred to hospital, including 3 firefighters treated

• Investigation is ongoing for cause of fire and it does not appear to be
