
PERTH AMBOY – 19th Legislative District – To help promote a love of reading in school-aged children in New Jersey, Assemblyman Craig J. Coughlin participated in “National Read Across America Week.”
Coughlin participated in the event in the 19th Legislative District on Thursday, March 1 and Friday, March 2. On Thursday Coughlin read to 4th and 5th grade students at Middlesex County’s Center for Lifelong Learning in Parlin. On Friday he read to 3rd grade students at Carteret’s Columbus School. Afterwards he read to Mrs. Satterthwaite’s Kindergarten class at the Anthony V. Ceres School in Perth Amboy.

Read Across America is annual reading motivation and awareness program, created in 1998 by the National Education Association (NEA) to motivate children to read. The annual event is held on March 2, the birthday of celebrated children’s author Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Suess.
