
Waterfront Recovery and Redevelopment Advisory Committee
PERTH AMBOY — There will be a public forum on the future of the waterfront development on Monday, February 4th at 7 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.
The WRRAC is requesting suggestions and comments from the residents and property owners in order to improve future redevelopment plans after damages caused by Superstorm Sandy and previous storms.
“In my efforts to continue recovery for the waterfront area, I have created a “Waterfront Recovery and Redevelopment Advisory Committee” comprised of appointed community members and business owners. This committee will provide recommendations to the City Council and me, on the renewal of one of the City’s most valued treasures,” said Mayor Wilda Diaz.
Lieutenant Larry Cattano, Office of Emergency Management Coordinator will provide a presentation including before and after photos of the damages caused by Superstorm Sandy.
About WRRAC
WRRAC a new advisory committee established after Superstorm Sandy to provide recommendations to the governing body on the recovery, repair and renewal of the waterfront that best serve the Perth Amboy community. WRRAC will also consider possible need for mitigation measures to reduce the impact of future storm damage.
Its mission is to seek ways to:
• Recover from the damage inflicted on the Waterfront by Super Storm Sandy,
• Develop appropriate concepts for reuse and redevelopment of the City’s waterfront,
• Make recommendations on maximizing the use of the waterfront to engage its full potential and thereby invigorate the entire community
