was a great day for the very first Kindergarten Class at Sacred Heart School in South Amboy. The class of 1942 had a special reunion event. The festivities began with Mass at Sacred Heart Church then onto a great luncheon with many from the class in attendance. The room was full of chatter from the alumni and the many family members that attended the reunion.
A special dedication was given to class member Robin Bogush who graduated Sacred Heart School and after college came back to teach for 14 years. Her sudden death was a shock to all. She is remembered as a loving person, with a great smile, who would do anything for people who needed help. Many of her family members were in attendance at the reunion.
Several class members made speeches and reminisced about their school days and the fun events that took place at Sacred Heart. How the lessons they learned carried them through life and the values they passed onto their children. Many days were rough and they thought they would never make it through to 8th grade graduation.
As they look back on what they learned they know that the education they received, the moral and family values they were taught were priceless. Sacred Heart School is still teaching children today and mentoring them into being successful adults with good moral and ethical values.
CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF “42”!
