Assemblyman Coughlin, The Raritan Bay Medical Center Foundation And The Middlesex Water Company Announce Fourth Annual “Bowl For Hunger”
19th DISTRICT — Assemblyman Craig J. Coughlin in partnership with the Raritan Bay Medical Center Foundation and Middlesex Water Company announced that they will hold the Fourth Annual “Bowl for Hunger” on Tuesday, July 16 at the Woodbridge Bowling Center.
Together, Assemblyman Coughlin, Michael D’Agnes, President and CEO of Raritan Bay Medical Center, and Dennis Doll, Chairman, CEO and President of Middlesex Water Company, continue to stress the present need for our residents to assist our community’s food banks and soup kitchens.The Fourth Annual “Bowl for Hunger” will raise money for the twenty-eight MCFOODS-certified food banks in the towns of Carteret, Perth Amboy, Sayreville, South Amboy and Woodbridge.
The July 16th event will welcome over 350 bowlers between two 2-hour bowling sessions. The first session will run between 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM, and the second will run from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. For $20, each bowler will receive two hours of bowling, free shoe rental, and an official Bowl for Hunger t-shirt. Teams are asked to carry 6 to 8 bowlers. An individual appointed as the team “Captain” will be responsible for collecting the $20 from each participant on the team prior to the event. Captains are asked to contact the Legislative Office of Assemblyman Craig Coughlin no later than Friday, July 5, 2013 to reserve a lane(s). This event is first come, first served with limited slots.
Sponsorships are also available on two tiers. The first tier at $500 includes company logo and listing on all Bowl for Hunger publications including tee-shirt, event banner, and in the event program. The second sponsorship tier at $100 includes company listing on Bowl for hunger tee-shirt and the event program. The Third Annual “Bowl for Hunger” took place July 17, 2012 at the Woodbridge Bowling Center, welcoming over 350 participants from the local community. Sixty-six corporate, community and individual sponsors donated at least $100 to support the cause. Of the 66 sponsors, ten sponsors—Applebees, Assemblyman John S. Wisniewski, Berkeley College, DuPont, Gerdau, Hatch Mott MacDonald, New Jersey Dietetic Association, Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters, Shannon Rose Irish Pub, and Woodbridge Center Mall each donated $500. Last year, the Bowl for Hunger raised $19,642; with each food bank receiving $627. The three year combined fundraising total is $48,642.
