And never will stop until the frustrated voters realize that it is in their power to stop this abusive power. In Perth Amboy it starts with the Mayor and the City Council. The rule should be very simple – if you are collecting a pension paid for by residents of NJ you are retired and cannot hold a State or Municipal paid position.
I am of the opinion that you should still have the right to hold an elective office since the voters make that decision and not a politician or bureaucrat. I hope that the pension board has a large enough staff to investigate abuses.
Wilda Diaz has hired 5 employees who were/are collecting pensions including one who after it was brought to the attention of the Pension Board was found to be improperly collecting her pension.
