Outerbridge Crossing Pavement Replacement
PERTH AMBOY – All traffic will be diverted to the Goethals Bridge during closure hours.
Weekday Closures – July 9, 2013 through October 2013 – Monday through Thursday evenings 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning. After Labor Day, weekday closures will begin at 9 p.m.
Weekend Closures – Fridays at 11:59 p.m. through Saturdays at 7 a.m. After Labor Day, the bridge will reopen at 8 a.m. on Saturday mornings. Work is weather dependent and may be postponed due to heavy rain. There will be no closures on Saturday and Sunday evenings or holiday weekends.

One would think that this ongoing inconvenience due to repaving coupled with the steep $8+ toll would spur Perth Amboy to bring back the ferry.
Should that occur one might ask what the fare would be for a round-trip passage to Staten Island. Well I think anything under $8 would make me smile.
