COMMUNITY VOICE: As the Anniversary of Hurricane Sandy Approaches…

On the eve of hurricane Sandy, Perth Amboy residents were told prepare for the worst, one of the preparations included residents putting tape on their windows to prevent shattering glass.

As the anniversary of super storm Sandy approaches, every Sunday on my day off, I would wake up, get my favorite cup of coffee and take my usual drive around Perth Amboy. What I’ve noticed on my numerous rides through town is that homes still have tape visible on their windows almost a year later. Do these residents know something I don’t? Are they bracing themselves for another super storm? Or do they simply have no pride in their home’s appearance?

Sometimes I go on a drive with my dad and see the same thing and wonder how people can be too lazy to simply remove the tape from their windows? I agree that people should have pride in their homes appearance.

We’re better than this, Perth Amboyans,
