Perth Amboy Joins The National Effort

Press Release 11/15/13 PERTH AMBOY – Mayor Wilda Diaz is pleased to announce that the Perth Amboy Business Improvement District (BID) joins “Shop Small Business Saturday” scheduled for Nov. 30 to help promote our local commercial business districts.

“Thousands of Americans support and value small business community. The businesses located in our downtown provide unique products, service and personal attention exclusive to their customers. They contribute greatly to the residents and development of our City,” said Mayor Wilda Diaz. “We encourage our residents and visitors to support our local business on November 30th, the Saturday after Thanksgiving– shop, dine and experience Perth Amboy,” added Mayor Diaz.

The City of Perth Amboy and the Perth Amboy Parking Utility have partnered with “Shop Small Business” by offering 2-HOUR LIMIT FREE PARKING beginning Thursday, November 27th – January 1, 2014. The Perth Amboy Chamber of Commerce is also holding Sidewalk Sales.

Heading into its fourth year, Small Business Saturday, which falls between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, is a day dedicated to local, independently-owned small businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods across the country.

“Last year, millions of Americans, shopped downtown business at independently-owned small businesses on Small Business Saturday. This year, we invite you to help make the day even bigger for our Perth Amboy businesses. Let’s support our businesses and shop locally,” stated Barry Rosengarten, Chairman of the Perth Amboy Business Improvement District.

“We’re very excited to be part of the Small Business Saturday Coalition. We encourage all of you to Shop Locally – Shop Small on November 30, 2013 and help spread the word. Let’s make Small Business Saturday, the biggest shopping day of the year in Perth Amboy,” said Roxana Troche, BID Manager.

Note to Business Owners–below are ways your business can get involved and help support Small Business Saturday:

Shop Small on Saturday, November 30, 2013: By shopping small, you are showing your support for small businesses and creating goodwill within the communities where you work and live. Make a day of it by shopping with friends and dining out at your favorite Perth Amboy restaurants.

If you are an independent business owner, make the day your own: Small businesses are known for having outstanding customer service and offering unique products. Think about having special promotions.

Spread the word: Sign up for email updates at www. shopsmall.com and make sure to ‘Like’ the Facebook page (www.facebook.com/ shopsmall). Tell your family, friends and loyal customers about Small Business Saturday on your social networks.
