Cathy DePow who was one of the individuals instrumental in the creation of MOPA (Museums of Perth Amboy) commented on why it was disbanded.

She said, “The Kearny Cottage was doing very well fiscally on its own as well as the Ferry Slip Museum. The Surveyor General’s Office is still uncertain. The Prop House is under the State’s authority and there has not been much activity at the Firemen’s Museum.”
