The Fireman’s Museum is a rather active place. Every Tuesday night, unless there is a fire, several firemen get together and work at the Museum. In the past 5 years, we have restored a 1926 Ahren’s Fox Pumper that is the centerpiece of the museum. The Fire Dept. has had collections at ShopRite and has held 3 spaghetti suppers. Through the generosity of the Odd Fellows, the Estate of the late City Historian, Jack M. Dudas and donations by interested citizens we have been able to organize our collections at the museum. Display cases have been donated. We have been able to start the gold leafing of the Ahren’s Fox. The “Fox” has already participated in the Memorial Day Parade and Christmas Parade. The Museum was open during the Fireman’s Open House. We hope to be open to the public in the near future.
I am disappointed that MOPA wasn’t aware of our activities.
