PERTH AMBOY – At the 5/14/14 Council Meeting: R-222 Opposing Senate Bill S-1801 and Assembly Bills A-2621 and A-2495, seeking to authorize County Government  to create County Tax Assessment while abolishing Tax Assessment at a local municipal level.

Resident Stanley Sierakowski wanted to know if the County Tax Government supported these two bills. B.A. Fehrenbach stated that, “I don’t know what the County thinks. Glouster and Monmouth Counties have pilot programs. The League of Municipalities said we shouldn’t proceed until we see how these two programs in Monmouth and Glouster County work out.”

The resolution opposing the Bills was moved by Petrick, seconded by Gonzalez, and passed by the Council unanimously.
