PERTH AMBOY – The Barge owner Alex Vosinas has a smile on his face. The patio which was damaged during Superstorm Sandy has been rebuilt and is open to the public. It took three months of planning and labor due to the recent rough weather. Fazio & Sons Construction built the new porch able to withstand any future storm.
“Everybody played their part,” states Russell Fazio, owner of Fazio & Sons Construction. “It’s what makes this town special.”
Local performer, Kurt Epps who performed every Friday and Saturday weather permitting at the Barge patio for the past 16 years is elated to be back. “You are a stranger at the Barge only once. Once you come to the patio, you become family.”
Police Officer and longtime friend of Alex Vosinas, Harry Scheman, offered moral support during the patio construction, “I’m blessed by great friends,” Scheman states.
The patio was repaired with private funding.
