Fire Helmet in Honor of 9-11-01

PERTH AMBOY – Fire Chief Abraham Pitre made very poignant remarks during the 9-11-01 Memorial Ceremony held at Perth Amboy City Hall Circle on High Street. He recalled  members of older generations from his family who remembered historic events vividly  as they grew up. Some of these events included World War II, the Assassination of John F. Kennedy and other conflicts.

Since he was not born yet when these events took place, he couldn’t fully understand their significance and how those events affected the generations before him.

Pitre said, “Now, with what happened on September 11, 2001, this made me understand  how significant the events mentioned beforehand had such an impact on them. September 11, 2001 is my generation’s and it something that will live with me forever.”
