Perth Amboy Police Seize Loaded Gun, Approximately 112 grams of Marijuana, $1025 in Counterfeit Money, $341 in U.S. Currency, Loose Ammunition, and Drug paraphernalia

Jorge Gomez was charged with Possession of Weapon, Possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of a school, Drug Paraphernalia and Forgery with counterfeit money.

Ivan Leon-Lopez was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of a school, Drug Paraphernalia and Forgery with counterfeit money.
PERTH AMBOY – Three Perth Amboy city residents were arrested and charged with various charges including drug and forgery offenses by Perth Amboy Anti-Crime Police Officers, one of the individuals was also charged with weapons charges for being in possession of a loaded Gun.
On 1/18/2018 Officer Giovanni Diaz and Officer Jose Perez conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Smith St and Hobart St. at 11:39pm. During the stop the Officers detected an odor of marijuana and conducted a search of the vehicle. The rear passenger Ivan Leon-Lopez had approximately 3 ounces of Marijuana in his possession. The front passenger, Jorge Luis Gomez and the Officers on the scene got into a brief struggle after he exited the vehicle. After the struggle in which he was reaching for his waist band area, Officer Giovanni Diaz recovered a Silver Raven Arms .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun from Gomez’s waistband.
The driver of the vehicle, Linda Almanzar, was also arrested and charged with various charges including drug and forgery offenses. Recovered from inside the vehicle was another approximate ounce of Marijuana for an overall total of 4 ounces of Marijuana recovered. Also recovered was ammunition (5 additional rounds), $1025 in Counterfeit money, and Drug paraphernalia.

Linda Almanzar was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of a school, Drug Paraphernalia and Forgery with counterfeit money
All three are to be sent to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center in North Brunswick with no bail.
