A Conversation About Legal Issues Impacting the LGBTQ Community

WOODBRIDGE – June is Pride Month, which recognizes the accomplishments of, and issues facing, the LGBTQ Community. On Tuesday, June 27 @ 7:00 PM at the Woodbridge Main Library Robyn Gigl, an attorney and activist, will discuss what it means to be LGBTQ and the legal issues those in the community face, as well as how those issues impact society at large. Distinctions between sexual orientation and gender identity will be explored, as well as discussing appropriate and inappropriate terminology, use of names and pronouns. Questions are encouraged throughout.

Robyn has been practicing law for more than 35 years representing clients in state and federal courts in New Jersey. Her practice involves handling complex litigation including employment law, commercial and business litigation, estate litigation and white-collar criminal defense. Robyn lectures frequently on LGBT issues, and in particular on transgender issues in the workplace and schools.  Robyn has been interviewed on NPR and spoken to, amongst many others, the New Jersey Judicial College, the Administrative Office of the Courts, the NJ Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the New Jersey State Bar Association.
