Perth Amboy BID and Raritan Bay Cruisers Present 12th Annual Classic Car Show Sept. 8

150 Beautifully Restored Vehicles from Grand Sedans to Sports Cars on Display in City Hall Circle

Press Release 7/27/18

PERTH AMBOY – Perth Amboy’s Business Improvement District (BID) and the Raritan Bay Cruisers are presenting the 12th Annual Classic Car Show on Saturday, September 8th. More than 150 vintage vehicles will be displayed around City Hall Circle, located at 260 High Street. Admission to the Classic Car Show, which runs from noon to 4 PM, is free and everyone is invited to attend.

The Raritan Bay Cruisers organized the show that draws car clubs from across New Jersey and around the region. Car owners will be exhibiting classic sedans, station wagons, pickup trucks, hot rods, compacts and convertibles. The display also includes such “milestone” cars as the Corvette Stingray, Thunderbird, and Mustang and a wide variety of high-performance muscle cars. Guests can speak with club members and get all the details about the automobiles’ history, special features and performance.

The City by the Bay’s Classic Car Show will feature magnificent, American-made automobiles. The cavalcade includes exceptional cars that were produced during Detroit’s golden age of auto design from the late 1940s through the 1960s. Car buffs will see huge autos with big fins, inspired by America’s mid-century fascination with the space program, and luxurious interiors with couch-size front and rear seats. The cars have plenty of chrome-plated equipment and gigantic engines.

To help recreate the “cruising-in-the-car” experience, vocalists from “Sounds of the Street” will harmonize as they sing legendary “Doo Wop” songs. Richie the DJ is bringing and playing a library of classic Rock ‘n’ Roll hits by top performers from the period. In addition to all the cars and music, there will be food vendors as well as merchants selling automobile memorabilia, equipment and clothing.

The Classic Car Show concludes with Perth Amboy Mayor Wilda Diaz and members of the Raritan Bay Cruisers presenting trophies to the owners of the most exceptional autos.
