PERTH AMBOY — It is never too soon to share the wonderful world of literature with children! The new Baby and Me Storytime Series at the Perth Amboy Free Public Library invites very young children (ages birth through 24 months) and their enthusiastic adult caretakers to explore language and literature through rhythm and rhyme, finger plays and very simple stories. Each story time will last about 45 minutes, with time for parents and children to enjoy one another’s company and the library’s resources afterwards. The series will run alternating Wednesdays at 11:00 am from September 5th through December 19th.

Library Hosts Teen Anime Club

PERTH AMBOY — The Perth Amboy Free Public Library is looking for teens to participate in its newly formed Teen Anime Club. The Anime Club is aimed at teens that enjoy Manga (Japanese comic books) and Japanese style cartoons and for fans of “J-pop” and “K-Pop”. The club will meet Monday October 29th at 6:00pm in the Library’s main reading room at 6pm. Discuss your favorite characters, learn about Japanese culture, make arts and crafts and new friends who share your obsessions. Participants will vote on what Anime to watch at the next meeting. Museum Pass Program
PERTH AMBOY – The Friends of the Perth Amboy Free Public Library have generously provided FREE passes to some of the area’s most popular museums! Museum passes offer a great way for family and friends to experience educational and cultural fun.
Picking Up and Returning Passes: Passes can be picked up at the Circulation Desk. Patron must present the library card under whose name the pass was reserved. Only Adult patrons whose cards are in good standing will be able to check out Museum Passes. Passes are good for a total of three days and are NOT renewable. Passes can be returned at the Circulation Desk or at the Book Drop after hours.
Late, Lost or Unreturned Passes: There will be a $5 amount late fee each day the pass is past due. The maximum fine will not exceed $25.00. Passes not returned within 14 days after the due date, will be presumed lost and borrowers charged the full replacement cost.
Replacement costs for items are as follows: Lost museum pass: Full cost of the pass. Replacement costs vary according to the museum and listed on the catalog record for each museum. Pass Case: $1

Escape the Library: Friday October 19th 5:30 pm (ages 13+) Search the library for clues and other items that will help you unlock the locks on the box. Using all your knowledge solve the puzzles using other items in the room. In the box you will find the key to breaking out of the library and maybe a prize! You better start fast as you only have 30 minutes!
No Sew Halloween Costumes: Monday October 22 6:00 p.m. Put together your own costume or accessories no thread or needle required!

October 5th 7:00 p.m. I Saw What You Did Starring Joan Crawford. Teenagers Libby and Kit innocently spend an evening making random prank calls. These calls lead to murderous consequences
November 2nd 7:00 p.m. Labyrinth Starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. A 16-year-old girl is given 13 hours to solve a labyrinth and rescue her baby brother when her wish for him to be taken away is granted by the Goblin King.

Pokémon Club to meet at Library

PERTH AMBOY –Perth Amboy Free Public Library’s Pokémon Club will meet on the second Saturday of every month the library, 196 Jefferson Street.
This club is open to anyone ages 4 to 14 interested in battling Pokémon cards with other trainers, just stopping in to talk Pokémon, or hunting Pokémon in the Library via the PokémonGO App.
Bring your own cards and collections, play and share knowledge. We have Pokémon mats too. No trading allowed. So, tell your friends and join us!
