Enjoy the City’s Fabulous International Cuisine while Helping a Great Cause on Thursday, October 18

PERTH AMBOY – The moment has arrived when everyone gets their appetite ready for the sumptuous food served at the Taste of Perth Amboy. On Thursday, October 18, from 6 PM to 9 PM, guests can sample a range of international cuisine while strolling aboard the Cornucopia Cruise Line’s spacious St. Charles vessel, which is moored at 401 Riverview Drive.
More than 15 local chefs, restaurants and dessert artisans are creating specialties for The Taste. Guests will find many delectable Caribbean, European, Latin, Mexican and South American dishes to please their taste buds. When they done tasting appetizers and entrees, they visit the multiple dessert tables. A preliminary list of participating restaurants can be found below.
Tickets for The Taste are available online at the Eventbrite website. The cost is $30 a person for adults 18 to 59 years of age. For individuals under 18 or 60 and older, the price is just $15 a person. A limited number of tickets can be purchased at the door, and patrons may pay with cash or a check.
All proceeds from The Taste will be donated to Raritan Bay Area YMCA’s homeless services provided by The Center for Support, Success and Prosperity. The Center was formed through an alliance between the YMCA and God’s Army Ministries of New Jersey. The facility provides a range of supportive programs to homeless individuals and families.
“We are very proud to support the YMCA’s initiative to assist the homeless because our mission is to serve each of the city’s communities,” said Perth Amboy Mayor Wilda Diaz. “For those attending The Taste, you can put your diet aside for evening, and savor all the wonderful cuisine from neighborhood restaurants and eateries. We are grateful to our local chefs and their teams who are making an extra effort to create a grand experience for everyone who attends.”
Perth Amboy, Mayor Diaz and the City’s Business Improvement District (BID) are hosting The Taste. BID Chairman Barry Rosengarten explained that a few spots are still open to local restaurants that want to join the City’s gourmet event. The Taste Strengthens Alliance between the Perth Amboy and YMCA
“The YMCA, in partnership with God’s Army Ministries of N.J., is committed to helping ALL residents of our great City to be healthier and reach their full potential,” said Raritan Bay Area YMCA President and CEO Steve Jobin. “We believe that Case Management for the Homeless, and the most vulnerable, is a critical service to connect and guide those in need.”
