EDITORIAL: Focus Your Energy Where it’s Needed Most

Amboy Guardian graphic.

We keep looking at protests from people of both sides of the political spectrum, and those in between. What is the common bond of all these protesters? They are very organized with buses to transport them to their intended destination.

We always hear rumors that some of these protestors are being paid, and that is why they are so organized. If this is so, I wish whoever is paying the expense would supply bus loads of people who have protested to instead go to the affected areas of people who are suffering from catastrophic weather. Imagine losing everything you own in a blink of an eye.

First Responders would so much appreciate you relieving them because of the long, hard hours they work to help those in need. I know it will take time because when you go to these areas, you have to wait until the water recedes. In the meantime, cleaning supplies can be gathered. Sign up sheets can be made up so people who want to volunteer can tell what skills they have that can be utilized.

I’m sure Habitat for Humanity would welcome you all with open arms. Many well-to-do celebrities give large sums of money to help people who are victims of natural disasters. But manpower is very much needed because you can have supplies, but if you don’t have enough people to distribute those supplies, there’s going to be a problem.

We recently spoke with someone who is living in Puerto Rico. They verified that many of the donated supplies are rotting in port because no one is paying to get them out of port. There are even supplies that have maggots on them. They also mentioned that local churches paid to get the supplies sent directly to them out of port while other organizations did not.

Many celebrities and business owners own vast amounts of undeveloped land. My suggestion is that perhaps they would want to build hospitals or research centers to help eradicate devastating diseases. Just think how it would make you feel to have your name on that building that helped some of the people who may have otherwise lost their  lives. There are still many young children dying from cancer.

It seems these protestors are exerting so much energy on negativity. When I look at all of these disasters happening around the world. Every week it seems like mother nature is striking back and telling people to wake up.

The United States is being divided. Our belief is for some reason there is an agenda to divide the people. But, we believe there are a lot of people waking up to this.

One of my favorite songs is by a group called Crowded House called, “Don’t Dream, It’s Over.” The lyric that I love is: Hey now, hey now

Don’t dream it’s over

Hey now, hey now

When the world comes in

They come, they come

To build a wall between us

We know they won’t win

Another song is: “United We Stand,” by the Brotherhood of Man. Part of the lyrics are:

For united we stand. Divided we fall

And if our backs should ever be against the wall

We’ll be together, Together, you and I

In our estimation, Mother Nature says to us: pay attention to what’s important.

There has been a lot of controversy over Kanye West meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House. I was not too happy with West’s language, but his message to Trump regarding needing jobs in the poorer part of the country resonated loud and clear. People are always talking about prison reform because some people are there for minor crimes. So, you have to filter what West said, because, you know what: somebody had to point it out. For that, I give them both credit. C.M. & K.M.
