PERTH AMBOY – My name is Vincent (Vinny) Makfinsky and I am running for Perth Amboy City Council. I am a lifelong resident of the city. I’m a homeowner living here with my wife Mary and 14 year old son Michael. I’m currently a parishioner of St. James Church. I attended Holy Trinity Grammar School, 2 years at St. Mary’s HS and graduated from Perth Amboy HS. After HS I furthered my education at Stockton University graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science. I am retired from a position of Laboratory Supervisor at the Joint Meeting of Union and Essex Counties Wastewater Treatment Facility. I was employed there for 31 years. Currently I am Captain of the charter boat Morning Dew sailing out of Perth Amboy Marina and a NJ State Police certified boating safety instructor.
Over the years I have been involved in many organizations such as the Perth Amboy Boat Owners Association/Raritan Bay Anglers Club where I served as President for 9 years, NJDEP Environmental Lab Advisory Committee, NJ Water Environment Association, Water Environment Federation, Knights of Columbus and Perth Amboy Moose Lodge. I have been involved in many youth activities including the Perth Amboy Kids Fishing Derby, Cub Scout Leader, Little League Baseball coach and Class Parent at my son’s school, St. James School, where I also wrote the athletics newsletter.
