Ex-School Security Guard Charged with Sexual Assault, Endangerment of Minors

PERTH AMBOY – Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief Roman McKeon of the Perth Amboy Police Department announce that a former security guard for the McGinnis Middle School in Perth Amboy was arrested yesterday on charges of sexual assault and endangerment of minors.

Elios Arias-Aguilar, 25, of Perth Amboy was charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault in the first degree, one count of sexual assault in the second degree, one count of aggravated criminal sexual contact in the third degree, one count of criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child in the second degree.

An investigation is being conducted by Detective Riscardo Rosado of the Perth Amboy Police Department and Detective Ryan Tighe of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office

The investigation has determined that the defendant, who was a school security guard, engaged in sexual intercourse at his home in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, with a minor who was known to him.  The investigation further revealed that the defendant sent nude photographs through social media to two minors, who were known to him.

Aguilar was employed at the McGinnis Middle School as a security guard for approximately two years.

The defendant is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center pending a Detention Hearing.
