Press Release 11/21/19
SOUTH AMBOY — The Sadie Pope Dowdell Library is thrilled to announce its latest art installment: a collection of work from Brookdale Community College!
Most of the items on display were created by traditional college-aged students enrolled in digital animation, architecture, interior design, and photography courses. All of the ceramics on display were crafted by members of the Brookdale community who are not matriculating for college credits; these artisans made their pottery and sculptures to satisfy their own creative impulses. The collection will remain in the library throughout November and December.
The exhibition is titled “Made at Brookdale Community College” because the school welcomes artists interested in a wide variety of disciplines. Regardless of their background or preferred medium, all artists are welcome to attend classes in state-of-the-art studio facilities, explore new subjects, and refine their craft. Learn more about Brookdale and its offerings at www.brookdalecc.edu.
Don’t miss upcoming arts exhibitions at the Dowdell Library! Scheduled displays include the photography of Joshua Lisojo, sports paintings by Nick St. Clair, and quilting from Gale Thompson in January and February; and the comic and caricature art of Edwin Yuan in March and April.
