Sayreville Mayor Election Challenged

SAYREVILLE (News Release) – Arthur J. Rittenhouse Jr. the Republican Candidate for Mayor of Sayreville in the Nov. 5, 2019 General Election has contested the election in papers filed in Superior Court on Dec. 13, 2019.

Rittenhouse feels that his loss by 6 votes should be challenged, because there were too many irregularities in the election process. Some of the irregularities are 41 Provisional Ballots that have not been counted, the Sayreville BA Dan Frankel is a Board of Elections Commissioner and failed to recuse himself and made decisions affecting Sayreville votes. There were problems with the machines counting the VBM and Provisional ballots.
