NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
and
HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM (HOME)
2020/2021 PROGRAM YEAR
They City of Perth Amboy is planning for FY 2020/2021 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and the Home Investment Partnership (HOME) programs funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assist persons who have low-to-moderate incomes, remove slums and blight, and/or address urgent needs in the City of Perth Amboy. The City’s allocations for fiscal year 2020/2021 are in the amount of $659,638.00 for the CDBG program and $420,621.00 for the HOME program.
A public hearing is being scheduled in the initial stages of the Annual Action Plan. The information received from interested individuals at the hearing will assist the City and the Development Advisory Committee in the preparation of the 2020-2021 Annual Action Plan. The hearing is designed to obtain resident’s views and to respond to questions. Residents are invited to provide written or verbal comments at or prior to the hearing. Information will be made available to citizens regarding application procedures, timing, eligible activities, and other regulations related to the CDBG and HOME Programs. As contained in the 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan the housing and community development priorities of the City are as follow: provide a suitable living environment; provide decent affordable housing and create or expand economic opportunities. These priorities will be reviewed and the public is encouraged to comment.
The draft 2020/2021 Annual Action Plan will be prepared following the closing of the committee review and a public hearing is set to be held on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 5:30 P.M. at the Council Chambers of Perth Amboy City Hall, 260 High Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. In addition, this document will be available for public review in the Office of Economic and Community Development from Monday, March 4, 2020 to Friday, April 3, 2020 in order to meet the timing submission requirements established by HUD on Friday, April 10, 2020.
