Statement by Mayor Fred Henry on Incident at NJ Transit Station

*From South Amboy Facebook

SOUTH AMBOY – As many of you are already aware from media reports there was an incident at the NJ Transit Station of Friday night that resulted in the death of one of our residents. The South Amboy Police Department, Middlesex County Prosecutors Office, and NJ Transit Police are working around the clock to identify and apprehend the person responsible. At this time it appears to be an isolated incident.

I have full confidence that Chief Darren LaVigne and the men and women of the South Amboy Police Department in cooperation with the Middlesex County Prosecutor and NJ Transit Police will leave no stone unturned in identifying and apprehending the responsible person.

As this is an ongoing investigation all further releases of information will come from either Chief LaVigne or the office of the County Prosecutor.

Sincerely, Mayor Fred A. Henry
