PERTH AMBOY – Mayor Wilda Diaz came under fire for unexpectedly terminating Business Administrator Frederick Carr.
Frederick Carr was appointed Business Administrator January 22, 2019 who has over 20 years experience in municipal management. He served as Business Administrator in South River, Bloomfield Township, Matawan, and Carney, Kansas. He also was the Senior Manager of Cranford. During his military career, he served in the Gulf War and held command and staff positions in the US Army which included Infantry and Rifle Platoon Leader. He received the Bronze Star in Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He has a bachelor’s degree from West Point in General Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson
University.
He has many years of leadership experience in the state and has provided effective management in operational budget preparation and execution which includes long term planning, facilities management and administrative oversight. (Source: press release from Mayor Diaz’s office dated 1/25/19)
Mayor Diaz temporarily appointed Lissette Martinez as Interim Business Administrator for a short period of time before deciding to appoint Patricia Perkins for a 90-day period as Interim Business Administrator effective August 3, 2020. Perkins has over 28 years of experience in government.
