Press Release 7/23/20
SOUTH AMBOY – Bishop James Checchio of the Dioceses of Metuchen has requested that Sacred Heart Church (SHC) begin exploring the needs for a Spanish Ministry.
Pastor Stanley Gromadzki has assembled an exploratory committee in an attempt to minister to the Hispanic Communities of South Amboy, Sayreville, Old Bridge and surrounding communities. Fr. Stanley said, “We will begin offering Spanish Masses once a month on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and gradually assess the spiritual pulse of the Spanish Parishioner.”
In compliance with the Governor’s Executive orders, all masses offer a socially distant environment, hand sanitizers and masks must be worn at all times by all, except when receiving holy communion after completion of the mass.
August 2 and August 30 at 2 p.m. will be the, “First of hopefully many,” Fr. Stanley said. The Parish will also attempt to celebrate other religious Spanish holidays that are normally celebrated.
