Press Release August 24, 2020

PERTH AMBOY – Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Roman McKeon of the Perth Amboy Police Department announced today that an investigation is underway for the shooting of a Perth Amboy resident. 

On August 23, 2020, at approximately 11:34pm, Perth Amboy Police responded to a 911 call regarding a one vehicle crash at the intersection of Hall Avenue and High Street.  Upon arrival, officers observed that the driver of the vehicle, 41-year-old Vidal Carrasquillo-Vasquez, appeared to be suffering from several gunshot wounds. 

Carrasquillo-Vasquez was transported to Staten Island University Hospital and was subsequently pronounced deceased.   The official cause of death is pending the results of the autopsy.  The results of which are forthcoming.
