Veteran’s Day 11/11/20
In the midst of this important election year, let’s not forget Veteran’s Day. Due to the pandemic, let’s not forget to thank our Veterans who fought and continue to fight for our liberties and freedom. If you can, when you see a Veteran, offer to pay for a cup of coffee or a small meal.Even a thankyou means so very much to them, which I often do when I see someone in uniform. Remember that a lot of Veterans are serving in the private sector – many in the field of security.
There are several times when you many receive phone calls or mailings from organizations who claim to be asking for donations to help Veterans. You have to be very careful because many of these organizations give very little money to help out. The best website to check is: www.charitynavigator.org is the best website to check for any charity you are interested in donating to. They can give you the ratings and the percentage of money being used to help those you wish to donate to. C.M.
