A Lot on Our Plate

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday was celebrated on Monday, January 18, 2021, and we wonder what he would think if he were alive today of the current events that have happened recently. What would he think of a party who spent the better half of almost 4 years whose goal was to get rid of Trump instead of serving their constituents which they were elected to do?

Another problem is that people have to take responsibility for their own actions. Remember the old saying: “If someone told you to jump off a bridge, would you do so?” Looking over the past few years during the Trump presidency, and any arrest that occurred up until January 6, 2021, you have to carefully dissect all the incidents. I don’t care what anybody says. Some of those riots and demonstrations were carefully planned and paid for. There were many social postings recruiting people, not just peaceful protests, but to destroy businesses, cities, and communities. It was up to both parties and independent parties to condemn all unrest that led to any destruction.

Why would you want to bail someone out of jail who caused communities and businesses to be lost? – Especially the communities who were already struggling and in low-income neighborhoods. How many people were bailed out of jail by people in power? That never should be allowed to have happened. How could you live with yourselves? Some people in power only cared when it spilled over to their neighborhoods.

All we know is that there were a lot of events that happened that did not add up and seemed very sinister. First, where did Covid-19 come from? When the unemployment numbers were coming up and the jobs coming back and the trade deals were in our favor, an atomic bomb in the name of COVID-19 suddenly appeared. The economy tanked because many businesses had to close as did schools and many organizations. Churches were closed not only for services, but their events to help sustain them were cancelled. So many people who had excess funds when the economy was rebounding and could donate to food pantries wound up being clients. This is what we call the domino effect.

I believe anyone that had anything to do in any way, shape, or form with Covid or with desecrating memorials, monuments, or statues, or destroying businesses or communities will be exposed. Anyone who paid people or allowed people to destroy their businesses or communities to be destroyed will also be exposed. Look at people who came into office with very modest income and each year became more powerful and wealthier. Look at the money trail. Look at their constituents and how well they are doing. Are there people moving out or into those states? Granted, there are politicians who became wealthy because of book deals, or speeches, etc. You have to look at any dealings they had outside the country. You have to look at who is connected to whom to get the whole picture.

Yes, Trump has a very big ego. He does not like to lose, and he is a sore loser. He was not a politician, but a businessman. He knew he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He could have gained a lot more wealth and live very comfortably as a private celebrity. Why even go into politics and lose four years of wealth, creature comforts, and know you will be unmercifully attacked?

On Wednesday, we will have a new President and Vice-President and that worries some people. Some financial advisors are worried about all the excess money that will put the country into a deeper debt and how Biden will rollback some of Trumps economic plans that were working out pretty well pre-Covid. There is nothing stopping big corporations from shipping their factories or work back overseas leading to another rush of layoffs. Many economists are saying that in order for the economy to bounce back, we have to open our businesses back up.

I have no choice but to be an optimist, because the other choice is just to lay down and die. You only have so much that you can control and hope that those in power will do what’s right for the people as a whole and not for their own self-interest. C.M.
