NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS
FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) AND HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP (HOME) PROGRAMS FUNDING
APPLICATIONS FOR FY 2021
The City of Perth Amboy is initiating planning for Fiscal Year 2021 Annual Action Plan as part of its application for funding to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The City expects to receive approximately $660,000.00 from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and $420,000.00 in HOME funding. Funds may be used to assist persons with low to moderate-incomes, remove slums and blight, or address urgent needs.
Starting Friday February 12, 2021, applications and guidelines for FY 2021 CDBG and HOME funds will be available on the City’s website www.ci.perthamboy.nj.us through the Office of Economic and Community Development webpage. Be advised, all proposals will be due by 5:00 P.M. on Friday, March 12, 2021.
A public hearing is set to be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 5:30 P.M. via a phone and ZOOM meeting due to the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic and following the social distancing guidelines.

The draft FY 2021 Annual Action Plan will be prepared following the close of the application period and committee review. This document will be available for public review in the City’s website www.ci.perthamboy.nj.us through the Office of Economic and Community Development webpage for 30 days starting Wednesday, March 26, 2021 to Monday, April 26, 2021 in order to receive comments on the proposed plan prior to finalizing the document and to meet the timing submission requirements established by HUD.

Would like to know if any of the money would be available for low income people to start up businesses? I would like to start up a clean up demolition business. Will be taking a asbestos supervisor class real soon. Would like to start up the business right after the class.
