COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM

and

HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM (HOME)

FY 2020 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN AMENDMENT 

The City of Perth Amboy is planning for FY 2020 Annual Action Plan Amendment to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and the Home Investment Partnership (HOME) programs funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), upon the City’s Council recommendations considering City needs to remove the Business Improvement District (BID) grant and include the Morris Habitat for Humanity which is a CHDO agency and the Fire/CODE Enforcement Rehabilitation Program. The City’s allocations for fiscal year 2020 are in the amount of $659,503.00 for the CDBG program and $420,534.00 for the HOME program.

A public hearing is being scheduled to review the substantial amendment to the 2020 Annual Action Plan. The information received from interested individuals at the hearing will assist the City and the Development Advisory Committee in the preparation of the 2020 Amendment. The hearing is designed to obtain resident’s views and to respond to questions. Residents are invited to provide written or verbal comments at or prior to the hearing. The public comment period is for 30 days starting March 30, 2021 to April 30, 2021.   

The draft 2020 Annual Action Plan Amendment will be finalized following the closing of the committee review and a public hearing which is set to be held virtually on:

The virtual hearing is scheduled in lieu of an in-person public hearing because of national/local health authorities’ recommendation for social distancing and limiting public gatherings for public health reasons.
