Offers Convenient Way for Those Wishing to Enjoy Our Parks to Reserve a Space

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – Beginning tomorrow, Thursday, April 15, Middlesex County’s Parks and Recreation Department will be accepting reservations for picnic groves at nine County Parks via a new online reservation system, with the first reservations available on Saturday, April 24. These picnic groves offer visitors a socially distanced way to host picnics and small gatherings in an outdoor setting. 

The parks included in this new reservation system include: Alvin Williams Park in Woodbridge Township; Donaldson Park in Highland Park; Fords Park in Woodbridge Township; Johnson Park in Piscataway Township; Joseph Medwick Park in Carteret; Merrill Park in Woodbridge Township; Roosevelt Park in Edison Township; Thompson Park in Monroe Township; Warren Park in Woodbridge Township. Fees vary for each location and are contingent on the Executive Order in place at the time of event.

“This new electronic reservation system will not just provide a safe and convenient way for the public to reserve picnic groves, but improve visitor experience overall,” said Middlesex County Commissioner Director Ronald G. Rios. “With the health and well-being of our employees and community remaining paramount, we encourage residents and visitors to enjoy our public parks while continuing to exercise precautions to keep from contracting or spreading COVID-19.”
