PERTH AMBOY  — At the March 27, 2013, local Resident Alan Silber stated that, “Say what want about Joe Vas, but he always was at the City Council Meetings.”

Stating that Mayor Wilda Diaz is hardly ever present at the Council Meetings.

At the end of the Council Meetings, Business Administrator Greg Fehrenbach stated that the during previous administration, former Mayor Joe Vas would sit in the Council Chambers, intimidating the Council. When Mayor Diaz was elected she made it a point on purpose to not attend the Council Meetings in order to give the Council its autonomy. “It was by design.”

After the Council Meeting Mayor Diaz stated that she is either in her office during the Council Meetings or close by. She is available if she is needed.
