Goulash Festival to benefit Romanian Child

PERTH AMBOY – The Hungarian Reformed Church Social Club Goulash Festival on Saturday, Sept. 7 will be held in the Church parking from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Donation is $5.

Proceeds from this fundraiser goes to help those who are sick and/or in need. This years proceeds will again benefit 5-year old Mark Nagy who suffers from cystic fibrosis and is living in Transylvania, Romania. Although he appears like every other child in school he must take medication every day. His parents, who are Reformed Pastors, income is less than $600 a month while Mark’s medicine cost over $300 a month.

Because of the recession in Romania, the Romanian government can no longer provide free medicine under their national health care plan.

The menu includes 2 kinds of : beef or pork. Palacsinta (crepes) with your choice of fillings and Langos (fried donuts) are available. Drinks include soda, water, juice, and coffee. “The Smokers” rock band will perform at 5 p.m.

Everyone is invited to attend. Additional donations will be gladly accepted to help Mark get his medication. God bless you all! For more info call the Hungarian Reformed Church 331 Kirkland Place, Perth Amboy, 732-442-7799 for tickets.
